Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)
Ahoj! Nowa gra autora serii Great Western Trail, Skymines, na horyzoncie. Tym razem gra bazująca na Maracaibo.
Set sail for an adventurous raid, for perhaps it will be your last! Face danger and adventure once more while you search high and low for the most valuable treasures the Caribbean has to offer. Then, quickly find a safe harbor to stash priceless gold, rare emeralds and iridescent pearls. Explore, stockpile cargo, hire crew, commandeer rival ships but don’t forget to bury your loot. As you sail, be on the lookout for a place to settle after your life on the high seas has come to an end. It won’t be easy… You’ll have to outpace your opponents, as one trip around the Caribbean won’t be enough. You must make three trips in order to retire as the richest and greatest buccaneer of all time.
Pirates of Maracaibo is standalone game in the same franchise as the popular game Maracaibo (2019). Players who are familiar with Maracaibo will recognize some beloved concepts from the original. However, new players can jump right in with no prior knowledge of the original game, as Pirates of Maracaibo is an independent game with a more accessible rule-set. The game plays over three rounds; sail the Caribbean, hire crew, ally with other ships, explore the shore, amass the most treasure and retire to a secluded island as the most revered pirate in history. Cast off sailors and swashbucklers, cast off!

Portal Games?

Re: Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)
Źródło: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3129992/how-differentAlexander Pfister pisze: Yes, it's wrong maybe it can be changed. It's like Expeditions -> Scythe.
The game is thematically set in the same universe as Maracaibo. It’s a completely different game that can be played by 1-4 players. The playing time is about 25 minutes per player and there is no gameboard. Instead, the cards are laid out to form the map. You sail along these cards and hire new crew members or buy equipment, visit locations, upgrade your ship, establish black markets, explore, raid, collect treasures, bury them, build residences, buy a figurehead for your ship and much more. There are no handcards (except quests), but you have to sail to the card, if you want to buy it or hire the person. The card is than replaced and maybe a new city pops up or it's a new equipment. It's medium heavy, not too long. The raiding action is with dice, but it's not too random and you can always avoid this strategy if you don't like dice
Rules will be uploaded in some weeks. I'm unsure who will sell the game in North America.

Re: Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)
Re: Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)
Re: Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)
Re: Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)

Alexander Pfister pisze: Yes, it's wrong maybe it can be changed. It's like Expeditions -> Scythe.

Jesteś szczęśliwym posiadaczem np. Gloomhaven? To znacząca różnica ;-)

Słaba Ragusa i Wenecja zabiły to wydawnictwo. Fakt, szkoda dodatku do Maracaibo. Mam nadzieję że Portal wyda Pirates of MaracaiboJollyRoger90 pisze: ↑07 sie 2023, 10:21 ech, zawsze jak wypływa Maracaibo, to przypomina mi się wydawnictwo Fishbones, które to wydawało u nas i niestety upadło (wszystkie znaki na ziemi i niebie na to wskazują), tym samym zamykając drogę na dodatek. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/313329 ... 0#42767200Alexander Pfister pisze:Seriously, Pirates of Maracaibo (PoM) indeed has some Maracaibo vibes and some game elements such as the expedition track are similar. You also upgrade your ship in while sailing through the Caribbean, however you don't have any cards in your hand and there is is no game board. Instead cards are laid out to form the sea: There you choose to meet people, who you can hire or you buy equipment or visit locations. You'll hunt for treasures, bury them and explore the Gulf of Maracaibo etc. There will be more photos next week, maybe even a video! So that everyone can judge for themselves if they will like it. I think, anyone who likes Maracaibo will also love PoM. It's 1-4 players and about 25 minutes per player. It has dice, but the randomness isn't high and you can avoid rolling dice if you don't follow this particular strategy. But I think for a 1 hour game this suits well.

Re: Pirates of Maracaibo (Alexander Pfister)
Tainted Grail i wiele innych). Gloom of Kilforth).
