U mnie wyszlo podobnie - sprawdzilem gre jeszcze raz w innym gronie i cos zatrybilo, gra mi sie nawet zaczela podobac.
DavidTurczi pisze:Hi, yes Tawantinsuyu is my fault It has lots of similarities to Anachrony (mostly the two-component worker placement), but instead of getting the excitement from the theme and the strategic build up (which is how thematic euros are meant to be), I tried focusing on more ... well... focusing, to create an Italian-like feeling. It is definitely heavier than Teo or Tekh, but if you had no problem with Tris, you should have no problem with this (it is lighter than Tris by a significant bit).ThyFemaleDothDeclare pisze:Tawantinsuyu is Turczi, who designs a lot of solo modes for these games but I think Tekhenu is his first time being a co-designer with the Italians.arbetorium pisze: What do you Italian experts think of what we have seen of Tawantinsuyu? I loved Teotihuacan, but I would like something more strategic even more. The board seems overwhelming, yet the game seems relatively focused. Being able to follow actions is always a nice mechanic. This looks way more exciting to me than Tekenu for instance, where there seems to be just so much stuff in the way. I really need to try Tzolkin, as it seems to be the most strategic of all.
Before that, the only games of his that I played (not solo modes), were Dice Settlers and Anachrony, and I though they were both good but not good enough.
So of Alma Mater, Tekehnu, Tawatinsuyu, and Golem, it's the one I've followed the least but still down to play.
Rules wise, they seem very close in length/weight to me, so the focus doesn't seem that different. No idea how Tekhenu got a 3.84 weight on BGG, that's inflated for sure.
Tekhenu was indeed my first co-design with the Italians, but I'm working more with Tascini, and I've also started on a game with Luciani a few weeks ago, which is very Italian (Barrage was the closest inspiration) , we'll see in a few months where that game ends up.
Teotihuacan is also getting a 3rd expansion (one I co-designed with Daniele), and if you liked board 7/8 from LPP but not the orange temple, you'll like this one more (also, it has new techs, new board 1 tiles, and a new board 1 too )
Also, I need to play more Italians (I only played about half of the original list), so I get inspired more. But you can see, I try to be a more "multi-genre" designer, so Dice Settlers is never meant to compete with Teotihuacan, but if you like dice drafting and combos, Rome and Roll might suit you more.
